⏰ The Race Against the Clock: Contest Mode Madness ⏰
The race kicked off at 10 AM PT, with Contest Mode active. For the uninitiated, Contest Mode is Bungie's way of leveling the playing field. It caps everyone's power level, making raw gear score irrelevant and turning the raid into a pure test of skill, strategy, and teamwork. It's the ultimate git gud challenge. Teams were battling not just the raid's mechanics and the terrifying new enemies within the Pyramid Ship, but also sleep deprivation and the pressure of a global audience watching on streams.
Contest Mode Status Update (2026): While Team Elysium has claimed the ultimate prize, the Contest Mode for Vow of the Disciple remains active for all players until the scheduled end time. So, if you're looking for that pinnacle challenge experience, you've still got a window to prove your mettle, though that World First belt is, of course, long gone.
🧙♀️ The Witch Queen's Reign Continues 🧙♀️
This epic raid race is part of the ongoing success story of Destiny 2: The Witch Queen expansion. Released a few weeks ago, it's been a massive hit with players, praised for its compelling campaign, the introduction of the legendary Savathûn, and the weapon crafting system. Bungie's live-service model means the fun doesn't stop here. Each week brings new secrets, challenges, and loot to chase, keeping the Destiny universe feeling fresh and alive. The Vow of the Disciple raid is the crown jewel of this post-campaign endgame, offering some of the most complex and rewarding encounters Bungie has ever designed.
🎮 Where to Play & The Future of Bungie 🎮
Destiny 2 continues to be a truly multi-platform experience. You can dive into the action on:
| Platform | Status |
|---|---|
| PlayStation 4 & 5 | ✅ Available |
| Xbox One & Series X/S | ✅ Available |
| PC (Steam/Epic) | ✅ Available |
| Cloud Services | ✅ Available |
Looking ahead, the future is bright. A few months back, Bungie officially joined the PlayStation Studios family under Sony Interactive Entertainment. The key detail here? Bungie retains full ownership of the Destiny IP and the freedom to publish multi-platform games. This is huge news. While Destiny 2 will remain everywhere, this partnership likely means we can expect some absolutely killer, high-budget PlayStation-exclusive projects from Bungie's creative minds in the coming years. The potential is, frankly, bonkers.
👑 Final Thoughts: A Dynasty is Born 👑
Team Elysium's victory cements their status as the dynasty to beat in Destiny 2's world-first raid scene. They've shown incredible consistency and mastery. For the rest of us, the raid is now open for business. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a New Light, the mysteries of the Vow of the Disciple await. Just remember, it's not a sprint; it's a marathon of teamwork, communication, and adapting to whatever crazy mechanics Bungie throws at you. Good luck, Guardians! Eyes up, and maybe we'll see you in the World First race for the next one. This is the way.
