Destiny 2: My Walk Through Sails of the Shipstealer Week 3 in 2026

Destiny 2 Sails of the Shipstealer Week 3 guide: steps 19-26, Mithrax vs. Eido, and Pirate Hideout boss fights.

By Spencer HaleSep 23, 20266 min read

In 2026, Destiny 2 has traveled far beyond the Season of Plunder, but I still return to the Sails of the Shipstealer questline when I want a reminder of how well this game can blend piracy, family trauma, and cosmic horror. Week 3 covers steps 19 through 26, and it moves with the rhythm of a tide dragging old wreckage into daylight. The conflict between Mithrax and Eido becomes sharper and more public, while the strange relics of Darkness that Eramis has been hunting start to feel less like treasure and more like a burden no one should carry. Here is how my run unfolded.

Step 19: Visit The Star Chart In The H.E.L.M. πŸ”

I walked up to the Star Chart in the H.E.L.M., and Mithrax spoke through its holoprojector. He warned me that Eramis' fleet was converging on another relic. He asked me to assemble my crew, but then he asked for one favor: do not include his daughter, Eido, in my missions. He did not want her taking part in the violence against the old crews. Eido believed he should have already educated her on the violent past of their people, but he had not, and he wished to be the one to do it.

That request landed on me like a stone dropped into still water. I understood his fear, but I also understood Eido's hunger for truth.

Step 20: Loot Expedition Buried Treasure And Defeat Combatants On Nessus πŸ—ΊοΈ

Full text: Loot Expedition buried treasure and defeat combatants on Nessus. Combatants defeated during Expedition grant additional progress.

For this step, I launched the Expedition seasonal activity. I made sure to equip a Treasure Map in my Captain's Atlas so I could dig up buried treasure. This week's Expedition brought me to Nessus, with its weird mix of Vex architecture and overgrown caverns.

A useful note: the week 3 challenge, Mid-Range Calibration, requires calibrating mid-range weapons on Nessus. That means Hand Cannons, Glaives, Auto Rifles, Fusion Rifles, and Machine Guns. I equipped a Hand Cannon and an Auto Rifle so I could work toward that challenge while completing this Sails of the Shipstealer step.

Step 21: Pirate Hideout - The Blademasters βš”οΈ

Full text: Complete Pirate Hideout: Tagh'al and Thagh'urn, the Blademasters. You have located a Pirate Hideout deep in the Themis Cluster. Infiltrate the hideout and claim the relic within.

This mission played out similarly to the previous Pirate Hideout missions. I infiltrated the hideout, slaying every enemy in my path until I reached the boss arena. There I faced two bosses: Tagh'al and Thagh'urn, the Blademasters. They periodically shielded themselves at certain damage thresholds and sent in another group of enemies while they regrouped. They fought like two halves of a single locked gate, each shield a hinge that refused to turn.

Once I defeated the Blademasters, I headed up to the pedestal and acquired the Relic. That completed Antiquarian III, one of the week 3 challenges for the season.

After acquiring the Relic, Spider mentioned that he thought Mithrax knew what these dark relics were for, though Mithrax had not shared. Eido also learned that Mithrax had asked Spider to leave her out of these operations. She swore to find out what was going on.

Step 22: Witness The Conversation In The Ether Tank πŸ•·οΈ

Full text: Eido wishes to speak with Spider in The Ether Tank in the Eliksni Quarter.

I navigated to the H.E.L.M. on the System map to access the Eliksni Quarter. I spawned in and witnessed the conversation between Spider and Eido. She was asking after her father. He had been behaving strangely. She wanted to know specifically about his and Spider's past, about the history of the former House of Wolves. Before Spider could share much, Mithrax showed up and broke up the meeting, threatening Spider. Eido was appalled by this behavior, apologized for it, and left. Spider realized that Mithrax did not want her to learn about their people's history and about what kind of Eliksni her father used to be.

Step 23: Visit The Ether Tank Holoprojector πŸ“‘

The Drifter called on the holoprojector and talked about Mithrax and Eido's conflict. He was not surprised that Mithrax had a darker past, and he expected Mithrax and Eido to work it out. It would just take some time.

'Folks have a way of puttin' aside their differences when the world's at stake.'

  • Drifter

The holoprojector conversation was a splinter working its way out of old wood: painful, necessary, and impossible to ignore.

Step 24: Visit Spider In The Ether Tank 🎁

I headed back inside to play another of Spider's little games. I had done a couple of these before during the Sails of the Shipstealer questline. He offered three of the Spider's Special Engram items for me to choose from. I picked whichever item I wanted. It was another worthless item, just like the last time.

Step 25: Speak With Spider Again πŸ“»

This was really just an extension of the previous step. I spoke with Spider after selecting my engram. He was barely paying attention, and he wished me better luck next time.

After that, Eido called on the radio, noting another energy spike. This was the third time she had noticed one while playing Spider's special game. She now had enough data that she could trigger a suppression field the next time this happened, hopefully allowing me to figure out exactly what was causing these. I kept an eye out for this during week 4.

Step 26: Mithrax And Eido Need Some Time πŸ›‘

The quest came to a halt again until week 4 of the season. Mithrax and Eido were busy studying the relic I recovered from the Pirate Hideout, and they would contact me as soon as they had more information.

In the meantime, I headed out to the holoprojector outside The Ether Tank for some bonus lore. I found the terminal located just beside the holoprojector. I interacted with it to listen to a message from the Drifter. He thought the pirate lords did not fully know what they possessed: the relics. Partway into the conversation, it became apparent this was a message not to me, but from the Drifter to Eris Morn. Drifter offered the relics to Eris Morn, but she refused. She identified them as reliquaries of darkness and urged Drifter to hold onto them, saying they might play an important part down the road.

In 2026, Season of Plunder is a legacy chapter, but Week 3 remains one of my favorite examples of Destiny 2 using a seasonal quest to tell a smaller, more intimate story. The relics may be relics of Darkness, but the real artifact here is the fracture between a father and daughter. I left the Eliksni Quarter knowing that Week 4 would force some of those buried truths into the light.
