🏆 Destiny 2: 10 Stasis Aspects, Ranked from Mehh to MUST-HAVE!

Stasis subclass Aspects and Fragments redefine Destiny 2 builds, but some remain situational or lackluster even in 2026.

Stasis was literally the first darkness subclass that dropped with the Beyond Light expansion, and honestly it felt like a breath of icy fresh air. It was the first time we ever got the Aspects and Fragments system, which completely transformed how we could craft builds. But let me tell you, not all Aspects are created equal, and even in 2026 some of them are still sitting in my vault gathering dust while others never leave my loadout. Ready to find out which ones you should be running and which ones are, well… let’s just say situational? Let’s dive into the cold, hard truth. 😌❄️

1️⃣2️⃣ Winter’s Shroud (Hunter)

Imagine dodging and thinking you're going to freeze everything around you, only to realize you’ve barely annoyed a red-bar dreg. That’s Winter’s Shroud in PvE. It says “Dodging slows nearby targets” and applies 40 stacks of Slow, but in reality, any weapon with Chill Clip does the job ten times better. In PvP, unless you’re maining a shotgun and you love hugging corners, it feels just as lackluster. Can it save you? Occasionally. Is it worth an entire Aspect slot? Absolutely not, my friend. 🤷‍♀️

1️⃣1️⃣ Tectonic Harvest (Titan)

This Aspect makes shattering a Stasis crystal spawn a shard that gives melee energy. Sounds neat, right? But then you remember the Titan Stasis melee is basically a limp handshake. So why would you build around melee energy? Sure, you can use those shards for Armor Charge, but if I’m being honest there are better ways to get charged up without wasting an entire Aspect. Tectonic Harvest had potential, but in 2026 it’s still waiting for the melee buff that never came. 😮‍💨

🔟 Grim Harvest (Hunter)

Hunters get their own shard-generator in Grim Harvest: defeating slowed or frozen enemies creates Stasis shards that grant melee energy. But here’s the question – how often are you relying on Hunter Stasis melee in high-end content? Almost never, right? The recent tweak that lets shards give Armor Charge made it slightly more relevant, but the truth is that if you want a consistent build engine, you’ll find better options elsewhere. It’s not terrible, it’s just… fine. And “fine” doesn’t cut it in Grandmasters. 🥲

9️⃣ Glacial Harvest (Warlock)

Glacial Harvest freezes targets and then pops out shards around them. The fantasy sounds great, but again we circle back to the Stasis shard problem – melee energy on a subclass where melee abilities aren’t exactly popping off. Warlocks already excel at freezing with Osmiomancy Gloves, so Glacial Harvest often feels redundant. Yes, you can net some Armor Charges, but you’re sacrificing a slot for something that could be so much more. In PvP maybe if you’re playing mind games, but in PvE? Let it go. 🎵❄️

8️⃣ Frostpulse (Warlock)

destiny-2-10-stasis-aspects-ranked-from-mehh-to-must-have-image-4

Casting your Rift and instantly freezing anyone too close is pretty cash money in PvP. You can shut down shotgun apes without breaking a sweat. But in PvE? Warlocks have so many better ways to freeze that Frostpulse becomes a “win more” button rather than a necessity. If you’re already running Osmiomancy, you’ll wonder why you even have Frostpulse equipped. Still, I’ve seen clutch Trials plays that make it look broken, so it’s not all bad. Just niche. 😏

7️⃣ Cryoclasm (Titan)

Slide and shatter everything in your path – who wouldn’t want that? Cryoclasm gives Titans a longer slide and the ability to smash through Stasis crystals like a frozen bowling ball. In lower-tier activities, you’re a wrecking machine. But step into a Legend Lost Sector or a GM, where getting close means getting dead, and Cryoclasm suddenly feels like you brought a snowball to a gunfight. Fun? Absolutely. Practical? That’s a different story. Use it when you want to feel like a Stasis superhero, just not when you need to stay alive. 🦸‍♂️

6️⃣ Howl of the Storm (Titan)

Now we’re getting into the “actually useful” territory. Howl of the Storm replaces that sad default Titan melee with a slide-melee that launches a wave of Stasis energy, freezes targets, and creates crystals. It’s a solid crowd control tool and a reliable way to generate crystals without a grenade. Is it meta-defining? Not quite, but it’s a massive upgrade over the base melee, and in Behemoth builds, it feels right at home. Respect where respect is due. 👏

5️⃣ Diamond Lance (Titan)

Create a Stasis Lance by shattering or defeating enemies with Stasis abilities, then throw it to freeze or slam it to freeze a group. Diamond Lance is one of those Aspects that just feels satisfying to use. Paired with the Cadmus Ridge Lancecap Exotic (still popping off in 2026!), you can chain freezes and control the battlefield from a distance. It’s not the absolute best, but it’s versatile, and that counts for a lot in a game where adaptability can make or break a run. Definitely a solid pick for Behemoth fans. 🥶🎯

4️⃣ Shatterdive (Hunter)

Once upon a time, Shatterdive could wipe an entire enemy team in Crucible with a single Glacier Grenade. Those days are gone, but Shatterdive hasn’t been sent to the Shadow Realm. It’s still an incredible movement tool – you can descend instantly from any height, and the shatter damage in PvE is still nasty. If you’re running a Stasis crystal spam build, Shatterdive is almost mandatory. It gives you burst damage and aerial mobility that no other Stasis Aspect can match. The nerfs hurt, but this Aspect remains a hunter staple for a reason. 💥

3️⃣ Touch of Winter (Hunter)

Finally, the Aspect that makes Stasis grenades feel like super abilities. Touch of Winter enhances every hunter grenade: Glacier grenades spawn extra crystals in a ring, Duskfields grow larger and create a small crystal on impact, and Coldsnaps chain an additional time with small crystals on detonation. This is the definition of lethality. You get crowd control, damage, and crystal generation all wrapped into one. If you’re serious about playing Revenant Hunter in 2026, this is the Aspect you never, ever take off. It’s that good. ✨💎

So there you have it, Guardians. The Stasis Aspects ranked from “why does this exist?” to “please never nerf this”. Remember that even the lower-ranked ones can shine in very specific builds or if you just want to meme around, but if you’re grinding endgame, you already know which ones deserve your slot. Stay frosty out there! ❄️🕹️
